Sustainability Strategy
A Comprehensive Approach to Sustainability
History has taught us that people, families, organizations, and countries can come and go but the only thing that remains is the legacy of values that have been left behind by the founding generation.
It is nearly 20 years since GRC was established. With the entrepreneurial leadership and the business acumen of its founders, as well as the unrelenting dedication and loyalty of its employees, GRC nurtured a successful legacy worthy of appreciation. Despite the fluctuating and severe economic, social, and political challenges that afflicted GRC’s regions of operations, the organization has been able to continuously overcome them with great proficiency, vigor, and valor.
GRC has maintained its leadership role with the continuous commitment to excellence, loyalty, and hard work of every member of the GRC family. The decisive factor all through the decades manifests itself in the set of unique cultural traits its employees and management have consistently adopted over the past decades. Industrious proficiency, unwavering loyalty, enduring dedication, and respectful compassion are major ingredients of GRC familial cultural traits.
The strong cultural traits that GRC absorbed from our special familial background kept the internal social and economic fabric of our company resilient, while the external relationships remained sustainable under all circumstances.
The corporate values GRC has been practicing throughout its history set the ultimate guideline for organizational behavior and constitute the unique culture of the company. Guided by GRC’s distinctive culture the company manifests its long-term commitment based on responsible growth and respect towards people and the environment. GRC’s values of nurturing human and business relationships create mutual strengths and shared value. Our corporate culture embodies a heightened sense of sensitivity and as a result, we believe that a responsible approach towards all our operations, our employees, clients, suppliers, local communities, the environment, and society is an essential part of our success. We supply innovative solutions across the markets and industries around the world, by combining our immense construction and engineering expertise and experience gained over the last 20 years. GRC core family values and principles define the framework of our global operations.
Employee Training & Engagement
Another important aspect of our sustainability approach is employee training and engagement. We recognize that our employees play a critical role in promoting sustainability, so we provide training and awareness campaigns to educate them on sustainability principles and best practices.
Local Engagement
We also believe in engaging with our stakeholders, including local communities, suppliers, and partners, to promote sustainable practices throughout our value chain. This includes working with local communities to identify and address their sustainability concerns and collaborating with suppliers and partners to promote responsible sourcing and ethical business practices.
We developed a framework that will help us to align and monitor our performance with the highest international standard, and we started providing awareness training sessions to our supply chain partners to prepare them to cope with Gulf Gate’s framework and the construction industry future requirement here in Saudi Arabia.
Regular Assessments
We regularly conduct sustainability assessments and audits to measure our environmental impacts, enabling us to identify improvement areas and track progress over time. This includes monitoring energy consumption, waste generation, water usage, and greenhouse gas emissions, among other indicators.
We believe that measuring the success of our sustainability efforts is crucial to ensure that we are making meaningful progress toward our sustainability goals and net-zero path. We use a variety of critical metrics to track and evaluate our sustainability performance. Some of the key metrics we track include:
-Energy consumption
-Greenhouse gas emissions
-Waste generation and recycling
-Water usage
We closely monitor our environmental impact and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to reduce our emissions and energy consumption. Additionally, we develop recycling and waste reduction policies and implement water efficiency measures to minimize our environmental footprint further.
Supply Chain Sustainability
Our clients rely on our skills and experience to deliver their projects with high quality with respect to environmental and labor human rights. We achieve these targets through the support of our partners (suppliers and subcontractors) who share our values.
We have adopted a supply chain sustainability strategy in order to:
-Lower business risk including reputational, regulatory, security and quality.
-Enhance GRC’s reputation in the marketplace.
-Generate cost-saving methods by focusing on total life-cycle costs when sourcing services and goods rather than solely prices.
GRC’s strategy to encourage those who work with us includes the sharing of our business conduct principles and policies regarding sustainability as well as our targets – this is part of our social responsibility.
Our suppliers and subcontractors are being screened for their compliance with business conduct principles, some of which are specifically related to their impact on the environment and society, including safety, labor practices and human rights.
